The work proposed is a visual translation of resting for rest’s sake. It does not inted to guide
the viewer into rest, but to open a space in which the possibility of rest can be reflected upon.
It is composed of a wall-hanging clock gradually slowing down and coming to a halt when observed,
removing its purpose and confronting the viewer with an object devoid of productivity.
This projects aims to allow reflection on rest without further intention, gain, or optimization. In a
time that demands constant attention and activity, the work points to the necessity – and increasing
rarity – of simply resting for its own sake.
